If you need a hug, baby
I can be your daddy
I can be your best friend you ever had
If you wanted love, baby
I can make you happy
I can break you off when you're feeling sad
I can be your boyfriend
I can be your girlfriend
I can be your best friend
This could be our anthem
If you got some troubles
I can bust you out, baby
I can make the best out of anything bad
I can be the answer
I can make you crazy
I can make you sane when you're going mad
I can be your boyfriend
I can be your girlfriend
I can be your best friend
This could be our anthem
If you need a hug, baby
I can be your daddy
I can be your best friend you ever had
If you wanted love, baby
I can make you happy
I can break you off when you're feeling sad
I can be your boyfriend
I can be your girlfriend
I can be your best friend
This could be our anthem
If you got some troubles
I can bust you out, baby
I can make the best out of anything bad
I can be the answer
I can make you crazy
I can make you sane when you're going mad
I can be your boyfriend
I can be your girlfriend
I can be your best friend
This could be our anthem
about
Tokyo’s ELLEH soundtrack the waking moments of the day, that stretch of time before trains roll out for the day and when it is still possible to find escape from personal woe in a club. The electronic project often moves in the shadows, but their second single “I Can Be Your Best Friend” highlights their upbeat and optimistic side.
Shuffling forward behind an irresistible funk beat, ELLEH let loose and give themselves over to new chances on “I Can Be Your Best Friend.” Specifics aren’t necessary and binaries are ignored — ELLEH revel in the opportunity that spark of connecting with a new person lights in somebody. Nothing is settled, but the hope brings out the brightest keyboard melodies and lyrics the duo have put forth yet. Techno-pop revivalists Crystal's offer up their interpretation of newfound possibilities in their remix.
“I Can Be Your Best Friend” is a first single from ELLEH’s new EP, “Anthems EP Part. 2” (due for August), a second instalment of Anthems trilogy and a sequel to last Spring’s genre-defining “Anthems EP Part. 1”.
